Diesco
Diesco is an industrial business group, focused on packaging and beverage solutions, with almost six decades of operation in the Dominican Republic and with presence in Colombia and Puerto Rico. Consistent with its vision of developing a responsible plastic industry and its commitment as "Guardians of the Planet", Diesco has constantly remained at the forefront, seeking innovations that transform its industry. For this reason, it has established an unprecedented partnership with INVEMA for the co-creation of Planta Renacer, with the aim of implementing a comprehensive management system for plastic bottles and recyclable materials in the Dominican Republic. This alliance is the pioneer in the region in implementing a comprehensive circular economy system, promoting a "bottle to bottle" production. During the last 13 years Diesco has managed to reduce the use of plastic by up to 60%, in thickness and weight, contributing in a sustainable way to the environment, aligned to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since 2019 it’s part of NUVI, the largest private alliance for a culture of reduction, reuse, recycling, and better use of plastic bottles. Also, in 2023, together with Termopac, created and financed NUVI FOAM, a program that is part of its commitment with the Extended Producer Responsibility (REP), to collect foam waste and give them value as secondary raw material or caloric power as fuel. https://www.diesco.com/
